Just got a unit from fit-pc.co.uk and it does not support auto restart after power failure (nor sport a wireless card).
Be aware you will need a HDMI monitor.
Auto Resume on power loss
Re: Auto Resume on power loss
I'm planning to order fit-pc2 directly from Compulab. How can I order
(through order form) instant-on unit?

Re: Auto Resume on power loss
Currently we are not offering instant-on units in direct sale.
We will consider offering that in the future.

Re: Auto Resume on power loss
In a phone call with CompuLab I was told that there is a new BIOS update that allows wake-on-power and ac recovery.
Is this true? An if it is, how can we get this update?
Thanks

Re: Auto Resume on power loss
Instant-on cannot be enabled by BIOS. It requires non-trivial wiring.
Re: Auto Resume on power loss
Excuse me is this has been answered earlier.
I'm curious about if the FIT-PC2 is capable of being set into hibernation mode and then woken up by a usb-connected APC UPS if powerchute is installed on the system?
Thanks in advance

Re: Auto Resume on power loss
Reference here is made to both auto resume and instant on, not necessarily the same thing. Instant on implies an image of the system state constantly updated, so that a power return after power loss could result in an instant return to the previous state. I can see why this would be non-trivial.
Auto resume, or auto re-boot implies that the system will reboot when power is restored after a loss, a different thing.
I don't care about the former, it's the latter that would be useful to me.

Re: Auto Resume on power loss
Your evaluation of the implications is incorrect.
"auto-resume" is a feature in bios that, upon power being restored after a loss, will set the machine to it's previous on or off state, with no reguard to data-safety, or 'imagaing'. I believe we aren't going to get this feature.
"Instant-on" is where they rig the machine to always be on if there is power, reguardless of previous state.
I want a webserver, so the "Instant-ON" feature is what is useful to me, though I could fake it with an auto-resume feature and turning the machine on the first time manually, as I will have to be there to install it anyways.
Gosh I wish I could buy one. In the USA. Please. I have the money...
