One more question.

Which OCZ SSD would you recommend.

30GB Vertex or the Vertex Turbo (EX)? There's only about a $20.00 proce difference.

You might want to make sure you get the AutoOn version of the fitpc if it is going to be somewhere you don't have easy access to, so you won't have to manually restart it if you lose power.

Thanks for the warning. The fit-pc2 doesn't have that by default. It is an orderable option, but apparently not from Amazon.com. I may have to wait for the fit-pc2i or pay a $35.00 premium to order direct from Compulab.

:D

Well, my FIT-PC2 arrived yesterday. I strapped in the 30GB OCZ SSD, Installed XP SP3, and had it fully configured with all the FIT-PC2 drivers and the 63 additional Microsoft updates inside of an hour. Needless to say I was IMPRESSED!

Transferred all my weather data from the old PC to the new one and poof - I'm up and running.

This is one sweet little package. It runs a little warm, but then - no fans.

Warning: shameless self-promotion!!!

Though it really should be able to take the heat with an SSD, you can always slap on a heatsink with some thermal paste like this: http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1266 . Works wonders for me.

Self promotion :o

Hey, when I think a product is well designed and implemented, I think it deserves some positive press. If it's a POS, it deserves the razzies as well.

Too many times these days I am seeing shoddy products turned out by companies with big "positive" reputations.

The heat isn't bad. I may load up the temperature sensing software I found mentioned elsewhere on this forum.
