I just installed Windows Vista Ultimate on my fit_PC2.
I used a USB DVD-drive to install windows. We tried with a USB-stick, but that didn't work.
At first I had some problems in installing Vista. Then I started with XP and installed Vista.
Some drivers where unknown to Vista. Here are the ones I needed to install:
Drivers:
- Realtek 1000 BaseT Ethernet :
ftp://61.56.86.122/cn/nic/Driver_Vista_6223_0526.zip
- 802.11g WLAN : RaLink RT3090 :
http://www.ralinktech.com.tw/data/drive ... 0_Free.exe
_ AVR309: Software Universal Serial Bus (USB)
http://www.avrfreaks.net/index.php?func ... ks%20Tools
The speed of the OS is OK!
Keep in mind that you need half a day to install the Vista-updates.
I advise you also not to use the Windows Search (under services), otherwise you're OS is indexing all the time.
I'm happy with the result. The fit-PC2 is now running my HomeControl-programm.
Success with your fit-PC2
Windows Vista Ultimate
Re: Windows Vista Ultimate
Is Aero working ? What graphic driver is installed ?
Thx
Thx

Re: Windows Vista Ultimate
At least in Windows 7, Aero works, but it's so slow it's unusable.
Re: Windows Vista Ultimate
I think i've a problem with my fit-pc2 then, because even without Aero, the display is very slow, and i don't know why but it's like the cpu is doing all the job.
When i open the task manager, the task manager process itself take 20-25% of the cpu. If i switch to Aero, then the dwm process take 20-25% of the cpu too....
I'm on vista ultimate sp2, indexing is disable, and my gma500 drivers are 7.14.10.1005 (the last one from intel atm).

Can you update the links? One is no longer valid and one requires a password to log in to the FTP site.
