Hi,
I just received a few Fit-PC2i's in the mail. According to
http://www.fit-pc2.com/wiki/index.php?t ... _Revisions
there will be support for bootable SDHC in the May-2010 revision (1.2). How can I tell which revision I have now (it's almost may). Also, is this simply a BIOS update, and if so, will this update be made available for older pc2i revisions?
Booting from SD/SDHC with fit-pc2i
Re: Booting from SD/SDHC with fit-pc2i
Your fit-PC2i is revision 1.1
It does not incorporate SDHC boot.
There is no intention to enable this through BIOS upgrade.

Re: Booting from SD/SDHC with fit-pc2i
Would it be possible to enable it for old revisions of fit-pc2 oder 2i with a bios update made by you??
Re: Booting from SD/SDHC with fit-pc2i
Due to licensing issue CompuLab does not support SD boot on fit-PC2i rev 1.1
Re: Booting from SD/SDHC with fit-pc2i
Does it work on new fit-PC2s?
If it buy one now, will it be able to boot from SD?
This is an essential feature for me because I want to put the OS on flash storage and data on a disk.

Re: Booting from SD/SDHC with fit-pc2i
All current models of fit-PC2 and fit-PC2i support SD boot.
Re: Booting from SD/SDHC with fit-pc2i
Hi,
I have received my fit-pc2 early 2010. I'm guessing it is a rev1.21. The Serial number indeed starts with 09091x-xxx.
Am i then correct saying I can't boot Linux on a miniSDHC card? What about a miniSD Low Capacity card (till 2gigs)?
Thanks for the support.
Sebastien.
[EDIT]: by reading this:
http://www.fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php/Fi ... _ROM_Files
I can conclude the SD and SDHC boot is only for Revision 1.4. Meaning I can't do that. Fair enough...
Can I then boot from USB stick? I want to create a very minimal server and i don't need/want install a hard drive in it since i'll be only using between 2 and 8Gigs.
Thanks for the feedback,

Sure!
FitPC2i supports boot from USB thumb drive. You can check this by running a live Ubuntu version from a USB drive.
Please refer to http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/cre ... on-windows for creating such USB drive

Re: Booting from SD/SDHC with fit-pc2i
Thanks a lot.
Could you also please confirm I can't use the SD or SDHC boot on old motherboard revision (1.21)?
I'm maybe planning to buy a sata to SD adapter:

So i won't block a usb port for the operating software.
Thanks!
