Re: PXE boot in FitPC3
Probably missing something obvious, but what package? (for the network controller's firmware update)gabrielh wrote:It looks like the PXE option should be enabled in the Realtek Lan Controller.
You should update the controller's firmware.
The package contains two files: pg8168.exe and 8168def.cfg
Copy these files to the USB Flash Drive that was prepared for BIOS updating.
Boot to the DOS and type the following command:
pg8168 /efuse /manchg
The "PG EFuse is Successful!!!" message should appear.
Perform "cold reboot" at the end of the process.
Please, don't hesitate to contact me if you need more information about the process that is described above.
Cheers,

That package can't be widely distributed. Each package request will be treated individually. Please PM me for an additional information

Re: PXE boot in FitPC3
The patch has been released. The zip file contains img file of a bootable USB drive. Please refer to http://www.fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php/Fi ... IOS_Update for instruction how to extract an img file on a USB memory device.
To update the Realteck's Ethernet Controller efuse, please boot the Fit-PC3 from the prepared USB drive and run the rtupd.exe file. After the update process is finished, please disconnect the USB drive and reboot the system.
Update:
There was a bug detected in this LAN controller update, and the file was removed. If you have downloaded it before: please don't apply it. The new release will be release ASAP. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Re: PXE boot in FitPC3
Our customer ended up with 12 0x00 as MAC address after following this procedure to update the Realtek Ethernet Controller. Has he done anything wrong or could this be another bug?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Are we talking about the 2.3 board revision?

Re: PXE boot in FitPC3
No it's the first rev. of the fit-PC3 product line.
Will this procedure only work on a rev. 2.3 board?
If that is the case I have two questions.
1. Should we safely be able to perform this firmware upgrade on a 2.3 rev. board?
2. Any idea to how we can "re-insert" the MAC address on the customers older rev. board, now when the upgrade has been tried and they have no MAC address?

Re: PXE boot in FitPC3
This support-case can be closed.
Apparently after some time and a couple of cold reboots, the PCs has registered the MAC address again and PXE is now working as expected.
