Hi!
I nearly completely messed up my fitPC2i-Ubuntu that came preinstalled when trying to turn it into a server installation. Bad thing, gotta solve that soon.
Now that I read that the fitPC2i has issues with HDD detection, will it be possible at all to install the server edition?
Which one should I use - 64 or 32bit?
thx!

Re: Re-Installation from USB
Hi..
I just recieved mine today. I installed Ubuntu 9.10 Server 32bit on the 4 GB Flash. It cannot run 64 bit I think.
After installation i followed these steps to get my HDD going.

I am wondering what ppl without flash are doing to get it going.

Re: Re-Installation from USB
Hi,
thanks for reminding me of this thread.
Ok, here's what happened to me:
I found out that the Atom CPU is a 32bit CPU, so I took the 32bit-Edition of the Lucid-Server-CD and installed it.
Using LVM lead to grub not being installable in MBR, so I had to re-install again and didn't use LVM - so the install went fine. One exception: the slave hdd didn't get recognized by the linux kernel, although BIOS knew about it.
After installing the system on the flash disk I installed the 2.6.31 kernel from the link mentioned above and that fixed the problem with the harddisk. Transferring the contents of /home on the extra hdd needed to be done by an admin user who didn't encrypt its $HOME, but then all was easy...
After all, Lucid is usable on the fit-pc2i pilot batch when using the kernel for karmic.
