Anyone had any success with 8.10? Boxee problems

I am having terrible trouble getting Boxee to work with the fit-pc2.

If I use 8.04 then boxee wont play online content (youtube etc), if I use 9.04 then online content works ok but downloaded movies do not, they are all pink and green and unwatchable.

The only option I haven't tried is 8.10 but I can't find any guidance on how to get it installed and working.

Anyone tried this?
