It reads "Ubuntu ImageWriter" (which I got via the Software Manager), as recommended at http://www.fit-pc2.com/wiki/index.php?title=BIOS_Update and https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Insta ... omImgFiles.
I was able to create a bootable Mint 9 installation with the Ubuntu 10.04 OS before.
It just doesn't make any sense that it does detect only some of the files/folders in the same location.
If there's no other way, I can try it with a Windows XP - though it takes me about half an hour to get there.

Re: How to install the BIOS update on Ubuntu
This is the correct tool, but where do you see "Save Image" button?
I cannot find it: http://people.canonical.com/~ogra/ImageWriter/

Re: How to install the BIOS update on Ubuntu
Sorry, my error. It's not "Save Image", and it's not a button. It reads "Select Image" on the top of the window, which pops up after clicking on the button next to "Write Image".
Re: How to install the BIOS update on Ubuntu
Thanks your discuss. I have some information from here
Re: How to install the BIOS update on Ubuntu
Does http://www.fit-pc2.com/wiki/index.php?title=BIOS_Update apply to the fit-PC2i computers too?
If so, I tried to do this on a Windows OS.
I was able to write the "128MBDOS.img" file to my thumb drive.
But then on http://www.fit-pc2.com/wiki/index.php?title=BIOS_Update it reads:
"Copy to the root directory on the thumb drive files SFlash16.exe"
How exactly can this be done?
In case this means to open (the folder of) the thumb drive and to copy the recommended files into there (next to the other files that are in there) - I did this.
How does one execute the following (http://www.fit-pc2.com/wiki/index.php?title=BIOS_Update):
"fit-PC2 should boot to DOS from the thumb drive."
I also tried to follow the instructions:
" 1. Type SFlash16.exe <ROM file name> /Force
2. Wait until completion - a message "Flash memory has been successfully programmed" should appear
3. Reboot "
I got a message which reads as follows:
"Phoenix SFlash16 Error
File Open failed on DEVEL34X.ROM/FORCE"
