Full HD 1080

Post by gvd »

I have a customer whose requirement from fit PC2 XP is 1080p HD video. The unit he has has not delivered decent HD performance for him and he has tried a large amount of various codecs including the ones recommended by fitPC.

Please outline the exact codecs you use that guarantees perfect quality HD 1080p video. The only reason this customer bought from us was the promise of HD video.

Please advise if it is multiple codecs or just one program that we need.

Thanks

See http://www.fit-pc.com/web/fit-pc2/fit-p ... pc2-xp-hd/
Note: This is an OEM version not available in retail. One of the common complaints of users who install Windows XP on fit-PC2 is poor video playback, but the reason for that is lack of this package in the standard Windows XP installation. It is highly recommended for buyers looking for HD experience to prefer fit-PC2 XP HD over self installation.

Now that XP version of fit-PC2 is discontinued (as of 3OCT2010) the following link no longer works... http://www.fit-pc.com/web/fit-pc2/fit-p ... pc2-xp-hd/

This means the Cyberlink OEM codec package that shipped with the XP-HD edition are also no longer available, or for sale from fit-PC2 due to licensing issue.

What is the recommended verison of "Cyberlink PowerDVD SE" to purchase/download from http://www.Cyberlink.com to get best video performance on XP?

Also, would these codecs help on Windows7, or just simply use recommended Win7 video drivers found at http://www.fit-pc2.com/download/win7-drivers/ ?

thx!

PowerDVD 9 gives similar performance in XP.
Intel drivers have built-in DXVA support in Windows 7 so CyberLink codec does not improve performance there.

Hi, I have installed the powerdvd SE for xp, which is from here, but there is no improvement at all after the installation. Just would like to know what else can be installed to improve the 1080 video playback, thanks.

Which player are you using?
We recommend MPC-HC, best to install using CodecGuide k-lite.
