I would like to use my fit-PC2 as an WLAN accesspoint.
So I have to configure the WLAN card some how and might need some additonal software.
Does anybody knows how to do that?
(Used: Fit-PC2 with WinXP, WLAN module Ralink RTxxxx)
Regards Ralf
Right-click on the Ralink icon in the bottom-right corner (system tray, where your clock is shown), and select "Change to AP mode". No additional software/hardware is needed, and it will work out-of-the-box.
sorry, I do not have an Ralink icon in the task tray. There is just the standard WLAN icon, which do not have this menu entry.
I reinstalled the RALINK driver, which was preinstalled on the disk and the slight newer (V1.4.7.0) one fom this web side. No luck
Any advice?
regards Ralf
When you start the installer, you should have 2 options:
1. Microsoft Zero configuration tool (this will install only the driver)
2. Ralink configuration tool (this will install also the Ralink icon that can be used to switch to AP mode).
Problem solved!
the out of the box installation of the driver was without the Ralink config tool.
If you just reinstall the driver again, there is no possibility to install it additionaly.
You have to unstall the driver first - then install it again from scratch.
Web side for the newest driver is: http://www.ralink.com
