No operation after Bios Update to SBCFLT_0.08.08 2015.11.30
Hey there,
I received my new fitlet iA10 Barebone about a week ago.
Today I updated BIOS to Version SBCFLT_0.08.08 2015.11.30.
Until step 6 (reset after successfull update) everything was al right.
After the reset there is no output to the monitor (both HDMI ports). LED is green.
The following measures have been undertaken but without success:
- Power Down for more than a minute
- BIOS Rest by pushing button SW3 according to Fitlet Troubleshooting guide (tested 3 times already)
Any advise to fix this issue is highly appreciated!

I have the same problem, reported in
https://www.fit-pc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=145&t=5812
However, for a "semi fix" (that works in my case), then you have to unplug the power cord (i.e. it is not enough just to power off the unit).
After being power unplugged for about 10 minutes, you can boot the computer.
It is as if some capacitors on the mobo have to be completely drained before the bios can do its stuff during boot (???)
It would be nice to get a BIOS fix of this.

I also had success to finally revive fitlet after many many tryouts. That was kind of luck as I was very close to believe in system brick.
Then I flashed back to the previous BIOS version using the old AFUDOS flash tool that I both fortunately downloaded a couple of days before the update was announced. So for now we are both waiting for an update of the new BIOS. Maybe we both could help by beta testing new BIOS versions.

uff, I am already doing too much unpaid voluntary work,... I think I will pass.
If you do this, make sure that compulab send you a new unit for free, if the new beta-bios bricks your computer. Be careful.

We have been almost completed testing and reviewing fitlet BIOS update procedure and it should be released very soon, I believe next week. A new announcement will be made on this.
It will be an official BIOS release.
It will be an official BIOS release.

mbirger,
New user here.
When the new BIOS with serial redirection is ready, where will the announcement be sent? Is there a forum or mailing list I need to subscribe to?
So far everything with my new fitlet is going great.
Cheers,
Curt

Re: No operation after Bios Update to SBCFLT_0.08.08 2015.11
Today I installed the new version of the BIOS. It was kind of confusing as it is listed to be the same version, size and date as the file I downloaded several weeks before. MD5 is different, so I used COMP and it finds 10 bytes to have different values.
So the devil was really in the detail in this case. However, that's it. It works. Console redirection is working like a charm now. Good job, compulab. Thank you very much.
Code: Select all
C:\Users\Niels>comp "O:\78 Fitlet\02 Bios\SBCFLT_0.08.08 2015.11.30\ALT (defekt)\bios_flt\flt.ROM" "O:\78 Fitlet\02 Bios\SBCFLT_0.08.08 2015.11.30\flt.ROM"
Vergleichen von O:\78 Fitlet\02 Bios\SBCFLT_0.08.08 2015.11.30\ALT (defekt)\bios_flt\flt.ROM und O:\78 Fitlet\02 Bios\SBCFLT_0.08.08 2015.11.30\flt.ROM...
