Machine build quality.

Post by mhwelsh »

I tried to remove the RAM to gain access to the bios reset pins.
One RAM board strikes the fixing screw hole for the lid/hdd.

I was reluctant to file a few microns off for fear of filling the machine with filings.
Perhaps you could make this lug a little smaller.

Can you please send a photo of what you mean. In general, we use standard SO-DIMM slots and memories.

The lugs that I am refering to are the screwholes for the base plate.

They are incrementally so large that the Ram memory board has to be forced pass them to replace it in the motherboard.

I hope that that helps.

You don't need to struggle with reseting the BIOS if following the guide:

The question would better refer to machine design quality.
It is confirmed that if you release the top-most SODIMM it will touch the HDD door screw lug. However SODIMM can be reliably pushed in the socket and pulled out at that angle.

Filing would not be a good idea.

Thanks for the feedback. We are doing our best to improve usability with each product generation.
