WLAN seems to not be supported in the Ubuntu 8.04 recovery image
(the module is not to be found anywhere in /lib/modules,
at least not for me using find . | grep rt30). Is there a deb
package available that I can download and transfer to the
machine via usb key?

WLAN on recovery image
Re: WLAN on recovery image
Not reply, only comment.
I also encountered this problem. In the boot log, there is not any information about the wireless. So, it is easy to conclude that the wireless device is not recognized by the recovery image version.
But the softwares about wireless are installed.
Can someone tell me whether a wifi device is in the "fit-PC2 Diskless"? The specification tab. tells wifi b/g.

Polo: If the tab says it's there then you just have to trust it. I suppose you can run lspci and check for yourself to make sure. Also if there is an antenna pointing out from the back you can draw your own conclusion

Edit:
Linux RT3090 driver can be obtained from http://www.ralinktech.com.tw/data/drive ... DPO.tar.gz
RaLink Linux support at http://www.ralinktech.com/ralink/Home/S ... Linux.html
We will add it as part of the recovery image in later versions.

Re: WLAN on recovery image
I take your word for it, but I have not been able to locate said directory.
Could I please get a full path or perhaps names of files? Otherwise
it is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Mr. irads
Thanks for you comment.
I installed Ubuntu9.04 into my "fit-PC2 Diskless". By installing rt3090 driver, the WIFI works well.
Since of the video driver, I have to return to V8.04. But I can not find out the driver for the wireless.
There is a directory /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.24.7-v1-fitpc2/drivers/net/wireless, but only, such as makefile and kconfig file in it.
The directory in DVD you mentioned may be the DVD of "linux version" product. For "Diskless version", would you advise us how to get the driver?
Best regards!
