Intense PC with Ubuntu 13.10 (or Mint 16) - no analog audio

Post by pto »

I have no luck getting analog audio out of my Intense PC running Mint 16 or Ubuntu 13.10. I get audio via HDMI - no problem, but the audio out plug only seem to provide a digital SPDIF. I want to plug in my headphones.
I have seen others write about adding Pulse Audio packages, but that did not solve my problem.
Any clues?

"Solved":
http://askubuntu.com/questions/368092/a ... d-settings
$ sudo apt-get install pavucontrol
Under "Configuration" select "Analog stereo output" (or one of the other Analog options).

It would be nice to have a permanent setup change which can be put to some /etc file
