Anybody out there can provide a Ubuntu FitPC2-Image ?

Post by andre »

Hi there,

since one week im trying to get my wlan working without success. I tried nearly everything :( .

Maybe it would extend my life to get a working installation as image. Unfortunatly i ordered my fitpc2 without harddisk (big mistake), so without preinstallation of ubuntu. I tried to get this image from compulab after i purchased the pc (email and forum), but even dont got a answer about it.

So maybe one of you guys can help me ? Maybe sale his one ?

Thank you,

Andre

Dear Andre,
We have no special installation cd, please try to reinstall Ubuntu again like described in our wiki, wlan should work, we did not touched the code of Realtek wireless driver. If it works before kernel replacement - it should work after too. If you do not need advanced graphics - just stay with official Ubuntu installation.

Hi Andre,
As said by Denis, try to install Ubuntu as described here :

Try to use WLAN without any encryption key or WEP key.
If wlan works this way but doesn't work with WPA, it means the problem is out there (modem, router, passphrase, ... Can the Realtek wireless driver do WPA ? Sorry I haven't tested it ...)
