Mike Galbraith, one of the developers of the Linux kernel, has announced a 233-line kernel patch that can give a speed improvement between 10 and 60 times in some processes. The patch has been endorsed by Linus Torvalds and is expected to appear in the 2.6.38 kernel version.

Something to wait for, especially in small machines like fit-PC!
