VMWare 5.5 - no NIC found?

When I try to install VMWare ESX 5.5 on an Intense PC i7 with the latest bios it does not work. It says at the end of booting into the ESX installer "No Network Adapters Found". I do the exact same thing with ESX 5.0 Update 1 and it finds the NIC and installs fine.

Any idea?

I have several intense PC's running ESXi, but two of them show intermittent issues, causing erratic reboots - it can be ok for 6 months, but it can also happen 10 times a day. Any idea?

We're not familiar with ESXi issues on Intense PC, however IPC2 Ethernet controllers (NICs) do have some sort of interoperability known issues with with this VMWare tool:

Perhaps similar problems may be on Intense PC NICs.
First thing, I would recommend reset the BIOS (RTC/CMOS settings) by following:

Next thing please try the NICs on Linux Mint (to make sure the HW is OK).
