fit-pc3 hangs at grub menu. Can't access to BIOS

I got my fti-PC3 (ribbed, T56N) with mint 12 installed, each time I connected my new Iomega usb3 hard disk ( in the blue usb ports), the system freezes and lost the usage of the mouse and the keyboard. The same hard disk works fine on the usb2 port.
Is there any option to activate on the bios to use the usb3 ports?
Since yesterday, the system hangs at the Grub menu, I can see the menu:

Linux Mint 12 64-bit, 3.0.0-12-generic
Linux Mint 12 64-bit, 3.0.0.12-generic – recovery mode
Memory….
Memory test,..serial console

1. There is no countdown as usual…the keyboard doesn’t respond.
2. Can’t access the bios, it shows up for 2 seconds, tried to use all the usb ports with different keyboards (was able to access it before)
3. Removed all accessories (antennas, hard disk, other usb disks ) with no success. Still can’t access the BIOS
4. When booting without the hard disk, I get a screen with two tabs “boot menu”, “App Menu”… the keyboard doesn’t respond.
For mouse and keyboard, I am using the two ports at the back ( NOT the blue ones ). Am I doing something wrong?

The same screen-dvi, mouse and keyboard work fine with my old fit-pc2.

Is there a way to reset the BIOS ?

Thank you,
Kamal
