Hi!
Is the fit-PC2 powerful enough to play 1080p mkv files thru the hardware video acceleration without any problems?
Like the Big Buck Bunny video that can be downloaded for free from the DivX 7 website.
If so, what sort of software is needed to take advantage of the hardware video acceleration?
Thanks for reading

Re: Playback of 1080p mkv file?
Hi Freddo,
I'm doing Fit-PC2 beta testing with Ubuntu 8.04.
"Big Buck Bunny" is playing smoothly, taking about 40% CPU resources.
Awesome graphics. My kids loved it.

I also tried "elephantsdream-1024-h264-st-aac.mov" - played well with only 11% CPU load - I wonder why it is so low.

Yeah, very impressive that the hardware video acceleration manages to take care of so much.
Also wonder if the hardware video acceleration is as effective in Windows XP too as it is in Ubuntu 8.04.

Unfortunately not, although VLC is my favorite. I'm using a special version of Mplayer which is supplied with the Fit-PC2.
The reason being that the codec with hardware acceleration support is not supported by VLC.

This is a player for Linux. Windows has Cyberlink codecs but they are not free.
