Does Bios Support VT-X or AMD/V

Post by RISC »

I intend to run Oracle's VirtualBox on the Fit-PC 3 to provide a couple of small 64-bit VMs. VirtualBox requires a processor that supports VT-X or AMD/V. As far as I know Fit-PC 3' s processor provides AMD/V but from my experience success is not guaranteed if other system components like BIOS do not support it. Do you think that it it possible to use the Fit-PC for this purpose?

Hi.

We tested VirtualBox 4.1.8 in following configuration:

CPU: T56N
Host: Win7 Pro 64bit
Guest: Win7 Pro 64bit

It works correctly except USB Mass Storage Device support.
It looks like the known issue in the VirtualBox:
https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/5343

Moreover, the USB Mass Storage Device support works correctly on the VMWare 7 with the same Host and Guest OS.

Hi.

I solved the USB Mass Storage Device issue.

In order to enable the USB Mass Storage Device support, you have to install the VM VirtualBox Extension Pack:

After that, you have to enable the USB 2.0 (EHCI) Controller in the Guest OS settings.
