Hi,
I have a question.
If the new Fit PC 3 better than the Fit PC 2 2 GHz and 2 GB of Ram?
If so, why exactly?
Should we wait for the Fit PC 3?
Or should we still buy the Fit PC 2?
Is the drive for the Fit PC 3 installed internally?
If the Fit PC 3 as hot as the Fit PC 2?
Thanks in Advance
Nicole
Fit PC 3 Questions !!!
Re: Fit PC 3 Questions !!!
There are still several months before fit-PC3 will be available.
These (good) questions will be addressed soon before product launch.

Re: Fit PC 3 Questions !!!
Really you should be able to get a feel for how fast the fit pc3 will perform now by comparing the Passmark performance data base on the respective chips. I assume the 2Ghz atom chip in the fit pc 2 is the Intel Atom Z550 @ 2.00GHz which scores a 386. Keep in mind this chips is ultra low power at 2.5 w, but is usually paired with a GMA 500(integrated GPU) which consumers 2.3W, keeping this platform under 5W, quite impressive.
Now the fit-pc3 is putting the embedded G series of AMD's new brazos platform, for all intents and purposed, this is near identical to the low power C series(9w for APU=CPU + GPU, aka Ontario) and the E series(18w, aka Zacate). If the embedded solution has a Radeon 6250, its basically a derivative of the Ontario(C) series, if it has the Radeon 6310, it is basically from the Zacate (E) Series.
Now with that explained, we have two passmark performance scores . The E-350(dual core at 1.6Ghz) scores a 798. The c-50(dual core @ 1.0 Ghz) scores a 482. The GPU on the brazos family(C/E/G series) has proved to be 18 times more capable than Atoms GMA 3150. Which puts it heads and shoulders above the GMA 500, which is on the Fit-pc2?
Summary of scores
Intel Atom Z550 @ 2.00GHz 386 (<5w TDP)
.........AMD E-350 @ 1.6 Ghz 798 (18w TDP)
..........AMD C-50 @ 1.0 Ghz 482 (9w TDP)
Yes the atom has superior thermals, another thing to keep in mind, its possible for the Ontario C-50 to be brought down to 5w. So if they get an embedded flavor of the stripped C-50, you are looking at comparative thermals with a performance premium. Either way, you should be expecting much much more performance from the fit-pc3(visual and computational). I am definitely ready to get rid of my atom platforms(I got an N-270 netbook, and an 330 nettop). Also remember that The brazos APU line has OOE(out of order execution which is far superior to Intel atom's In order execution on single threaded task.
Do you really expect a company to tell you not to buy it's current line-up?(you answer that for yourself)
In my opinion, the fitpc3 will run circles around the fitpc2 (but it will likely consume more energy). From what engadget has said, the 2.5" drive is internal. But it also has an esata port, HDMI, and Display port(lots of viewing/expandability options here) We won't have an idea about true thermals till they ship a preview unit for review. I'll be checking back weekly for updates.

Re: Fit PC 3 Questions !!!
You know, a couple of your questions were actually answered in just the CompuLab news release
As for the two chips the AMD G-T56N and the AMD G-T40N They seem to be exact duplicates of the e-350 and c-50 respectively as shown by identical clocks and GPU capabilityies as seen on this spec sheet for the G-series. Just wanted to update this with more supporting links and better information.
Could easily throw an SSD on one of the 2 mini-PCI-e sockets and use the internal 2.5 for a larger/cheaper magnetic drive. I do take one issue with these specs. If this board truly has 2 Sodimm slots, the maximum should be 8gb DDR3 ram, I can't see any reason why not, as far as I know, the whole brazos pplatform is compatible with that spec. Maybe embedded platforms are different? But I can imagine why it would lose functionality.CompuLab fit-PC3 includes:
APU: AMD G-T56N processor with AMD RadeonTM HD 6310 Graphics or AMD G-T40N processor with AMD Radeon HD 6250 Graphics
Memory: Up to 4GB DDR3-1333 (2 SO-DIMM sockets)
Display: Dual-head HDMI 1.3a + DisplayPort
Audio: Digital 7.1 channels S/PDIF, stereo line-out, line-in, mic
Storage: Internal 2.5” SATA 3 hard disk + 2 eSATA ports
Networking: GbE + 802.11n WiFi
I/O: 6 USB 2.0 ports
Expansion: 2 mini-PCI express sockets + custom extension board
Casing: Passively cooled die-cast aluminum 6.3” x 6.3” x 0.98” (16 x 16 x 2.5 cm)

Re: Fit PC 3 Questions !!!
Will it be possible to configure Fit-PC3 with 2x GbE?
Re: Fit PC 3 Questions !!!
Fit-PC3 got some more coverage today from thetechjournal.com. Confirms what we already know and states to expect release around May to June.
I have the Lenovo Thinkpad x120e, which has the AMD APU e-350 chip which seems to be identical to the AMD APU G-T56N that will find its way into the fit-pc3. This processor/GPU is impressive. I have played Starcraft 2 at low and was surprised at how decent the framerate was. It feels much more fluid than an atom processor. I truly am excited to see the release of this product. I got impatient and have already built a mini-itx variant of the e-350, but it is in no way as compact or sleek as the fit-pc3. Looking forward to future official announcements.

Any news about the availability of the Fit-PC3? Q3'11 is already here.http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2116
fit-PC3 will be available towards the nd of Q2'11
I would also like to ask if there is any information about the weight of the Fit-PC3?
