sound/video playback

Post by fitpcuser »

I've some issues with playing videos and music on fitpc2 (atom z530, 1GB RAM) once again. I installed Linux Mint 9 as advised and installed the modified kernel... Works fine so far. But when I try to play music (gmusicplayer over pulseaudio or alsa) or video (with vlc using alsa, pulseaudio and x11-video-output, or totem) it stumbles... Streaming internet radio using vlc isn't possible as well. The same problem with flash videos from youtube (for example)...

Is there any solution for this problem (i.e. tuning some buffers)? Is it a driver issue?

When I was playing some audio files cpu was 80% idle and 45000kb of ram was free.

I did the following:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get autoremove pulseaudio && sudo reboot
and now everything (audio& video playback) seems to work fine. So the problem seems to be a problem with pulseaudio.
Maybe one can tune it?
