Standard def video issues in Mplayer

Post by guzbox »

mplayer vaapi is working great for me on hd videos, but seems to be a problem with sd .avi videos, if I try to play those sd videos in mplayer it return this error "marker does not match f_code".
With smplayer configured for use with vaapi I get instead playback artifacts...

I can add new details: I tryed with 720x436 mkv file encoded in h264 and mplayer show random artifacts like square or something similar during playback.
There's a reason for this behavior?

I too appear to be having all sorts of "stability" and "twitchy" windows. What used to play fine (Most of my library is .AVI files) on ubuntu 9.04 doesn't on mint 9. I only upgraded as there was an "official" graphics driver. I really wished I'd left it on 9.04 but now thats not supported can't go back.
