Hi, i just tried this installation on my device, it seems to work quite correctly. Thanx a lot to have posted this update, finally we can have a stable system under an LTS until april 2017 :D
However on a 1Gb RAM system i can confirm it is necessary to add GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="vmalloc=256MB" to /etc/default/grub for mplayer-vaapi to work without crashing too much
Otherwise, will we be able to follow all ubuntu updates of xorg safely? and is it possible that we could avoid the downgrade of xorg one day?

Thanx

xserver-xorg* forced to be limited by 1.9 version and would not be updated. But you can use sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade as usual.

It depends on Intel, they provide EMGD driver which compatible to 1.9 version only. We have not information about possible major update.
