Hi,
Unfortunately looks like IR firmware (Atmel Corp) is absent.
Please email rma@fit-pc.com
In case you received a system with a missing component we will replace it at no charge.
remote control problem: no /dev/lirc0

Compulab's Linux support
Re: remote control problem: no /dev/lirc0
Have the same problem, but I am too lazy to go through RMA procedure

Re: remote control problem: no /dev/lirc0
Finally working after replacement. Thanks to all who helped me.
/dev/lirc0 is registered as expected immediately after the first boot.
It was quite frustrating experience but I'm satisfied with the prompt customer service.
**EDIT**
I just found that my replaced Fit-PC2's power button is dead. Maybe refurbished?
I can't even turn it on or off by pressing the power button(even > 5 secs).
The only way I can turn it on is by using auto-on feature, meaning that I need to literally unplug and plug in the power source.
I'm reaching towards the edge of my patience now.. I don't know how much more time I should waste. (Already wasted 30+ hours. Duh.)

Re: remote control problem: no /dev/lirc0
I apologize for that, it is unusual to get a 2nd defect on a 2nd unit.
