Lighting up External LED

Hi,
My Fitpc-2i is placed inside an enclosure. I need a way to get my illuminated push button which is mounted on my enclosure to be working correctly. I manged to tap the switch signal off the on/off switch quite easily but I was just wondering where I can tap the voltage off the fitpc motherboard so that the illuminated switch can light up when i press my button on the enclosure.
I managed to find 3 easily accessible vias on the PCB labelled 3V, 3VSB , and GND for me to use on my illuminated button. I soldered some wires going from the 3V and GND vias to my illuminated button but found that the switch is constantly illuminated even when the PC is off when I do this.
Any help would be very much appreciated
Cheers
