Why wouldn't you guys post availability and other important announcements on Twitter, just like Dell and others do?

I don't think it is worth it. I expect all of our readers to have email accounts, and only some to follow twitter.

Well... It depends on whether you're looking to sell your products, or you're merely agree to sell it... to those lucky ones who manage to find this site

To defend CompuLab, I know nothing about Twitter
And I expect the products to be advertised by distributors (who earn money from selling them), and not by CompuLab (who earn money from making them but not really earn money from selling them)

I might be wrong, but from my experience with enthusiast-crowd targeted products, distributors deliver and support products, but they can't really ensure global public awareness. It's only the "maker" who can build and maintain strong international community, that in turn does the required viral marketing to attain new customers.
Look at SlimDevices for example. They have tons of distributors, but they still do the effort to keep buzz around their products within their community, and it works very well.

You are thinking "English-speaking community". One of the biggest things that distributors can do (and manufacturer won't do) is to provide the product (Fit-PC2 in our case) for review to big web sites in their country. The reviews would be written in local language and independently of what manufacturer would have advertised.
I am doing it myself in Israel and it works wonders. When I ask someone how did he hear about my products, it's not via Twitter or similar site (and I sell not only CompuLab's products), but via reviews done by independent web sites and posted in Hebrew.

WTH then?...
So this device is popular in Israel? How do you convince people to buy this and not a netbook?

I do not convince anyone. Fit-PC2 (and other Nettops) are different market from Netbooks. Netbooks are meant for mobility (use in school, university, train, bus, airplane, etc.,.. everywhere), while Nettops are intended for static location where space, noise, heat production, electricity consumption, screen size or durability (or more than one of the above factors) are of concern.
So if advertising company wants to connect a computer to 42" LCD monitor to show their advertisements to all visitors of the building for example, their correct path is Nettop (obviously they are not going to mount a Netbook at the back of the LCD monitor

).
