Are there plans for a fit-pc2 with dual ethernet? I'd buy one immediately to replace my zyxel firewall, which only gives me 13 mbit/s IPSEC DES throughput, before the CPU maxes out. SOHO router/firewalls with VPN support are relatively expensive if you want >20mbit/s 3DES IPSEC throughput.

We are aware of the demand for such a product. It has been thoroughly discussed on www.fit-pc.com/forum since the introduction of fit-PC Slim.

I don't need a gigabit WAN interface, so I'll just buy an USB 2.0 Ethernet Adapter. The Apple USB Ethernet Adapter looks appropriate.

Indeed, it would be usefull to fit the next version of fit-PC out for dual ethernet.

It's a pity that device as small as this cannot be used as a proper router (i.e. with both Ethernet ports soldered on board, and not via USB dongle). Of course in this case, audio and IR connections are probably unnecessary, so it could provide the space for 2nd (and even 3rd) Ethernet port.

With dual ethernet it would be the perfect router/gateway Getting tired of my p3 500mhz in the old, ugly and big compaq case drawing ~50w idle

In a similar vein, any kind of secondary high speed connection would be better than nothing. eSATA or Firewire 800, but I think dual ethernet has the most applications.

will probably still buy, but emulate ethernet via usb. any experiences with that?
