Hi i have trouble installing Win xp.
I did already tamper with the bios settings when i got it.
And i had to reset to default before installing windows7.

My question really is kind of simple.
What are the prefferable bios settings to get windows xp running?

I already tried another disk and i get the same problem.

This is the error i get:
Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem.
Could not read from the selected boot disk.
Check boot path and disk hardware.
Please check the windows documentation about hardware disk configuration and your hardware reference manuals for additional information.

I'm not familiar with this Windows message.

Maybe you partitioned or formatted the disk with Windows 7 and there is a backword compatibility issue? If so - repartition and reformat with Windows XP during installation.

Well i tried cleaning the disk with diskpart and i tried to repartition and reformat with xp, both didn't work.
Also tried another disk where windows7 has never been installed on.
And i keep getting the same message.

At the moment i'm trying a diffrent xp version, hopefully that works.

My question still remains though, what bios settings did you change for the diffrent type of OS'es??
