Hi all,

I purchased a FIT-PC2 computer three weeks ago because it seemed to be very powerful and able to read HD movies.

I just installed WindowsXP and all FIT PC2's related drivers, i firstly tried GM500 drivers, then the other one but it is still very slow and unable to read HD 1080 movies (mkv files).

I as well tried to play movies on youtube.com but there is no way to get a fluent response.

I have plugged my television on it and tried to set 1920x1080 resolution but my disappointment was still not contradicted.

So my question - is this computer not able to work correctly for administrative tasks such as internet, some internet movies, etc. ??

Many thanks for your useful help.

KR.

The fit-PC2 XP HD as sold by CompuLab is tuned for HD video playback.
This is not the case with XP installed out of the box. The reason is inability of standard XP to take advantage of GMA500 video acceleration.
See for example http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=1349

HW accelerated flash video is work-in-progress by Adobe and Intel. It is currently not supported in Windows XP. See http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1282

Hi,

thanks for your answer.

Will it work better with Windows 7 ? Because i imagine with difficulties it would run without lagging on Windows 7.

If i install Cyberlink H264 codecs will it work better ?

Many thanks.

[EDIT]: I have read the post you referred to, i'm going to try to install powerDVD9 this evening and come to you later. Many thanks.

Hi,

I installed PowerDVD 9 Ultra, i tried Flash Player 10.1 Beta but there is no changes. The comptuer remains too slow, even only when surfing on the internet. Youtube.com SD videos are lagging.

Do you have a solution ?

Thanks in advance.

PowerDVD 9 has nothing to do with Flash - only with regular video files.
To learn about current situation with flash acceleration check http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1282
In short, not supported under XP, more or less works in Windows 7 with a specific combination of driver and player - see also http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4719#p4719

Hopefully support will improve soon.

So if i'm right here is the situation:

WinXP + Flash 10.1 Beta 1 for having good quality and reasonable fps on online videos (youtube i.e.).

Then we must install powerDVD 9 for reading H264 movies (mkv btw) or divx. Which i tried and it doens't work.
