IEGD 10.3.1

I've just installed the new IEGD driver 10.3.1 following the instructions from

http://www.nanoant.com/linux/compiling- ... ent-page-2.

The only odd I've observed is that the drm_test utility included in the driver has failed saying

Code: Select all

DRM module failed IOCTL info did not match.
I have no idea what that means...

It looks like the firefox rendering issues has been fixed in this release.

I tried googleearth and it does work also (appr. with the same performance as with 10.2).

mplayer is working also, but there is some flickering when a window is moved over the video window. I'm unsure if this has happened with 10.2 as well.

Desktop effects in kde4 do work with the XRender compositing type. (has someone managed to enable the opengl compositing ?)

Short update: The drm_test error message was related to an incomplete driver installation. After copying all files to the appropriate places (in the spirit of intel's install.sh for Fedora 7), this message disappeared. Everything else above is still valid.

It sounds like IEGD 10.3.1 will solve some of my problems. Will CompuLab be supplying a package to do the upgrade?

The update utility found xserver-xorg-video-poulsbo 10.3-1 on the Compulab site this morning and installed it for me. Thanks!
