System hangs/stucks on Ubuntu 9.1 (solved)

Hello,

Just received a new pc-fit2 and installed ubuntu 9.1 following the procedure in the forum, including the optimzed kernel from the pc2-fit repository.

Randomly the system hangs and totally blocks/stucks, no mouse no keyboard input... it stops responding, nothing to do.
Alt + F1/F2/breakspace..... don't work. All I can do is the switch off/on the machine.

sometimes it happens after a few minutes, sometimes after a few hours....

Thank you in advance for your help,
Kamal

Same problem here with gentoo and kernel 2.32
Sometimes press the power button unblock the computer .. sometimes not.

(I had the same problem with archlinux (kernel 2.31) too)

EDIT : I just upgrade the bios and it seams that the problem is gone... (I hope :-))

have you read http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 1&start=20? Maybe this will fix your problems.

Sounds good!
Do you have the latest bios version installed? There is a new version (23-Dec-2009). I did not have the time to test it, but maybe this version fixes the problem.

Hi,

No I've just changed the option in the BIOS. Still have bios version 31th august 2009.

The system is up and running since 20h now... so I will keep it as it is.

Thank you
Kamal
