New google chrome beta on Windows

Post by vtailor »

The new google chrome beta (not the google chrome stable) appears to work better under Windows 8 and the z510 chipset. Windows explorer is still full of scrips that freeze problems, so alternate browsers are needed if you run Windows 8 on the z510. I wouldn't say chrome bet is free of problems, but it works better than explorer.

First, chrome beta is no longer available. So now, you download chrome, which, solely for the z510 it seems, can run in "supported Windows 8 formats", which include explorer and firefox. In other words, when you switch to a firefox version of chrome, it appears to display firefox as a plugin, with all of the firefox quirks you know and love, including poor pulling in of data and slow typing. You can use chrome on other Window 8 installations, and never even know or care about this. Basically, chrome is very unuseable on the z510, but not other chipsets. I can hardly wait to try out what they do next.
