About a month ago you guys did a couple of tests with HD content, wich about 20% utilization on full hd content.
I was wondering wich tools you used to achieve this?
I already tried a couple of programs and codecs and i can't seem to get it working properly on Windows7

The HW accelerated Windows codecs are not open.
We are including HW accelerated codecs by CyberLink with fit-PC2 with Windows.

Does that mean that the codecs are only included with Fit-PC2 that comes with Windows?

No.
Fit-PC2 with Linux comes with a HD codec. (VAAPI for Mplayer).
See this thread on the subject:

How about the fit-pc2 version without OS? Can we download this special mplayer codec?

We will soon release the full fit-PC2 Ubuntu distribution for download.
We may also release the display drivers and links to the FFMPEG accelerated codec.

I believe you can get promising results with SAF. See
this page for more information and instructions.

I have looked around for a while. Am I right in concluding that GMA 500 hardware video offloading of mpeg4/h.264/vc-1 requires DXVA2 and thus Vista or Windows 7?

In general - yes, but CyberLink incorporate the DXVA2 API inside the codec so it works on XP as well.
We did not license the VC-1 codec, only AVC.

Hi Irad,
Does this mean that Fit-PC2 wont be able to play HD files which were encoded using VC-1 - ie WMV HD files?
