XP IEGD drivers give igfxext.exe error with WMP

When I have the IEGD video drivers installed and run windows media player I get an error in the event viewer that says:

Unable to start a DCOM server

The system cannot find the file specified''

Happened while starting this command:
C:\WINDOWS:\system32\igfxext.exe -Embedding

igfxext.exe and igfxsrv.exe are not found in c:\windows\system32 with the IEGD driver, but they are there when the regular GMA500 driver is installed.

Has anyone found a fix for this?

This should be better off in the windows subforum. I am not a fan of replacing and patching around with driver or system files by hand, but in that case you provided the solution yourself: If the IEGD needs these files, you can try copying them from the gma500 driver. After googling I foound various issues with missing igfxext.exe and most of them related to gma500 are solved like this:

Install gma500 driver.
Start iegd setup.
Select UNINSTALL.
Uninstall and reboot.
Windows will prompt you for installing drivers. Use this dialog to install IEGD drivers.

I don't use windows, so I cannot test it. Sounds like a typicall and working windows solution :)

Thanks! That seems to have taken care of it.
