Very iteresting.

I also intend to use one as a mobile robot controller. Placed my order yesterday with a local company.

Regarding battery power, according to the specs i saw here somewhere, the input can be between 8V and 15V. A 3 cell LiPo will give you 12.6V fully charged and 8V empty. Might be something to look into.
