fit-PC2i, large DC offset in recorded audio

Post by skellco »

Hi,

I'm running Fedora 16 on a fit-PC2i. When I try to record a mic-level signal there is a large DC offset in the recorded audio. In alsamixer I can see the DC offset increase as I turn mic boost up, which is needed to get the level high enough. When I record a higher-level (line) signal with appropriate mixer settings, there is no DC offset.
Does anyone have a suggestion to get rid of the DC offset on mic recording? Does this happen to anyone else?
This seems like a hardware issue but I might try ubuntu to see if there is any difference.

Thanks!
