Hello i want to buy! but first i need to do some questions. I'll use it as a linux mediacenter, now i have an atom 330 + ion that works fine but have a lot of noise.
First i don't know the differences between the fit-pc2 and the fit-pc2i, only the spdif and a second ethernet port? The HDMI have 5.1 sound in both versions?
The windows hd version is not more powerfull that the linux version, don't? it have the licenses of windows and codecs, true?
It haven't active coolers? only the hd noise will irritate my girlfriend? I think that my atom330 have ~30dB, and the fit-pc2?

I wait for the answers!

pd: sorry for my poor english.

If you put SSD disk in Fit-PC2, then the noise is 0db (it does not have active coolers). With regular hard disk, there is some noise from the hard disk but it is almost not heard.

The difference is Fit-PC2i has 2 Ethernet ports and 4 USB ports, and Fit-PC2 has 1 Ethernet port and 6 USB ports. Fit-PC2 also has S/PDIF. There is no sound from HDMI, only video (because it's DVI port really, only the connector is HDMI). The sound is via S/PDIF.

If you buy Windows XP version, then you also get license for codecs, right.

Correction :
There is no S/PDIF (-> 5.1 sound) on fitpc2; but there seems to be one on fitpc2i (see latest revision to be sure, because it's not certain what is today in fitpc2i : it is not completly finalized).

Is it RCA or optic fibre on fitpc2i ? Please yogev ?

There is S/PDIF in Fit-PC2 starting with rev. 1.4 (the one that is being sold today). Older Fit-PC2 revisions indeed had "regular" sound output.
Fit-PC2i has S/PDIF starting from the first revision (rev. 1.0)

S/PDIF is coax to RCA custom-made cable.
