i would like to use fit-pc2 as a router, therefore i need to emulate one ethernet-port via usb. will it work under linux?

I've used a generic usb to ethernet adapter on a Fit-PC Slim, without a problem.
I think it depends on O/S support rather than hardware.

I tried a $10 Generic USB-Ethernet adapter with my FreeBSD Fit-PC2, and it wouldn't run above 10 mbits/second, so I bought a $39 Linksys unit, and it works fine at 100 mb/s.
The $10 one ran at full speed on our other unit, a Ubuntu 9.0.4 Fit-PC2, btw.
