Powerpack failure (2 out of 5 fail after 4 days)

Hi there
We recently bought and installed 5 fitpcs on different projects. We have about 45 other projects with FitPCs on it and never experienced that kind of problem.

On 2 installation, the powerpack failed. Installation is running on 120Vac 60Hz, and in both case the powerpack went dead after 3-4 days.

The on-site electrician talked about the possibility of having noise on the earth, so we used a earth-removal plug to make sure that newly replaced powerpack (taken from a recently bought Fit PC) would last more than 4 days... but to our surprise, the "un-earthed" powerpack does not power up the fit pc.

In order to have the FitPc(and consequently the whole project) up and runnung for more than 4 days, we bought another powerpack from a local vendor.

My questions:

1- how does that powerpack works ? How come the earth connection becomes so important in order to powerup the fit pc ?
2- Will older fitpc have that same problem eventually ? What has changed between previous versions and the FitPc that have been bought last summer ?
3- Is there a way to order the DC plug for FitPC, so that we could use our own, more robust, power supply in harsh environment ?

In advance, thanks for considering my request and providing me with best answers.

CompuLab does not provide nor support the power-packs. We now have DC cables with secured power plug that sell for $3 each, MOQ 20.
We will have it on the site soon. You can email sales@fit-pc.com to order a pack.
