Boot to PCIE?

With that out of the way...
It seems the mini PCIE connector for the WiFi is on the USB, if that is true would it be possible to boot from a device in that slot? Something such as a PCIE SSD.
They are way over priced ATM, so I won't be doing any time soon - but is the theory sound, would it be bootable?
