SSD Samsung MLC 64 Go not supported

When I try to install XP from usb key, it runs and then crash in the first step of windows installation (just after asking for installing other SCSI drivers (F6 in the blue installation screen). When I look at the bios (F2) the hard disk is not recognized. Instead I have another disk: SAISQNC IMCRA60GIMXP LBA 29664 MB... Any idea?

Thank you!

Can you post photos of your BIOS please? The Main screen (the first one that appears when you enter BIOS), and the Boot screen.
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks a lot - but there was a little misunderstanding.
The "Boot" screen I meant the "Boot" option of the BIOS - please go to there and make a photo, thanks.
Also please tell us what is the USB stick size and is it plugged in when you make a photo?
And if possible, can you please make a photo of the SSD disk (where the info sticker with all the data is placed)?

Stick size: 4GB. It is plugged because I boot from it in order to install XP.
If I unplugg the SSD before booting, the installation process continue, but of course I do not want to install the OS on the USB stick!

Thanks.

Hi, thanks for the info.
But I need also photo of the SSD and photo of "Boot" screen in BIOS to understand what is going on. The "Boot" screen in BIOS is the option near "Exit" (when you are inside BIOS you see menu at the top - Main - Advanced - Intel - Security - Boot - Exit). So I need a photo of the "Boot" option, thanks.

Hi,
Thank you very much! After all this info, I have 2 guesses:

1) Fit-PC2 does not support this disk. To confirm this, can you please install this disk into another computer (laptop, desktop, does not matter) and check in disk manager what size is it?

2) The disk is fake. The label is for 64GB but you got 32GB disk only (the reason it appears as 30GB in BIOS is because in 1KB there are 1024bytes but manufacturers like to calculate the disk space like if there was 1000bytes, so the real size is 30GB while advertised is 32GB). Where did you buy it? Can you ask for replacement?

Disk works perfectly.

Very sad :( this is a very common, standard SSD disk and I've seen nothing about problems with SSD disks in the forums (Amir asked me to look for in the forums about this, what I did).

This product is also sold by Corsair:

Will you update the bios in order to correct the problem?

I have not seen previous reports of SSD detection issues.
Since you are trying to install using USB and have an incorrectly identified SSD and experience crash during installation it calls for variable separation - to find whether the crash is because of the SSD or the USB installation.
Either try installing on the SSD using an XP installation CD in a USB CDROM,
or
Try installing on an HDD.
