sound garbled after boot - sometimes

Post by FiXion »

Hi guys,

I just got my fit-pc2 and have installed ubuntu-9.04 according to the guide on this forum - and everything works fine and extremetuxracer runs just fine (~16fps).

I have 2 very annoying problems - but I'll start a thread for each :)

Often - when I boot the fit-pc2 the ubuntu "welcome" sound (I have set it to autologin) is garbled - and when that happens sound doesn't work - it only plays garbled and can't play the video properly - it skips a lot.

I have tried to remove the snd_* modules - but they are apperarently set as "busy".. some program I didn't try to kill probably was hogging them.. probably some gnome sound thing.. I can give this a proper try if you think that will help anything.

Anyone else have experienced this "garbled sound on boot" problem?
For now I fix it by shutting off the fit-pc2 and booting again - sometimes it's garbled 2 times in a row - but then it works.

I'll try to compare dmesg output from the two boot situations and post the results..

All ideas are welcome.
