Cold boot issues

Post by nvuletic »

Greetings,

I have a Fitlet2, that has some weird cold boot behavior (by cold boot, I mean that it wasn't on for 4+ hours)

I've tried installing Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 19.04 and on both same behavior occurs:

- First time you boot, the screen stays on the flat purple color (#5E2750), nothing shows up on it, F12 doesn't switch the view to the one where you see services raising up, it is completely frozen

- Second (and third, fourth, fifth.... ) the system will boot and dump error (see attached image) and end up in initramfs.

- The system will boot after a couple of restarts, anywhere from 5 to 10 boots and it will succeed in booting. After that, the PC can be restarted, shutdown and booted up, and the PC will function just fine.

S.M.A.R.T. is disabled in BIOS as I figured that it isn't useful for SSDs

Is there anything I could do about this?

Thank you in advance

Thank you for the inquiry.
I have escalated this issue to the R&D and will get back to you as soon as I get a reply.

Our R&D diagnosed possible issue with the storage device itself.
We haven't got the S/N or P/N of the machine but we guess it is an eMMC storage device installed according to the logs.

We suggest to initiate an RMA procedure to have this part replaced:
