Fitlet3

I see the Fitlet3 is available for order.

Whats the performance difference between x6425E, J6412 and x6211E? And how do they compare with Fitlet2 generation CPUs? I'm currently using a Fitlet2 with J3455 but need a second Fitlet for a new location.

I am currently running OpnSense 22.1 (FreeBSD 13) on my Fitlet2 and plan to run OpnSense on Fitlet3. Will this be similar to Fitlet2, "not supported officially by Compulab" but should work?

Thanks.

Added 2/10:

I'd been looking at the datasheet specs earlier but I see in the specifications posted at https://fit-iot.com/web/products/fitlet ... fications/ state: "Compatible with other hypervisors and operating systems (e.g. ESXi, FreeBSD)"

Are the RAM details correct at the specifications URL above? The datasheeet just states "SO-DIMM DDR4 up to 3200MT/s" but the specifications state "1x SO-DIMM 204-pin DDR4 Non-ECC DDR4-3200MT/S (1.35V)". Isn't DDR4 SO-DIMM 260-pin and 1.2V? I think 204-pin is probably a typo or carried over from old Fitlet2 DDR3 specs.

Some CPU benchmarks for what they are worth. Note low number of samples on newer processors: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/In ... 4474vs4347

Hi
Regarding the RAM. I don't know where did you find this information (I mean about 260 pin 1.2 V).
From web site specifications:

RAM | Up to 32 GB | 1x SO-DIMM DDR4 Non-ECC DDR4-3200MT/S (1.35V)

From Datasheet:

Memory Type SO-DIMM DDR4 up to 3200MT/s
Max. capacity 32 GB

Maybe this some old data that fax fixed then. Sorry for inconvenience!

Regarding the benchmarks - we are preparing it (I mean the whole device and not just CPU). Hope it will be accessible shortly.

Thanks. It looks like someone fixed at least part of the RAM issue. On https://fit-iot.com/web/products/fitlet ... fications/ it used to have "204-pin DDR4" although it still says 1.35v when I think it probably should be 1.2v. If you go online and try to buy SO-DIMM DDR4 it's all 260 pin 1.2v.

Looking forward to the whole device benchmarks. Are the first units shipping in April? I do plan to put in an order at some point in the coming months. My existing Fitlet2 has been great.

Thank you for your attention, this mistake was fixed.
Regarding the shipping you should ask our sales, please write to fitpcsales@compulab.co.il

We are using another tool for making a benchmark.
Shortly it should be published on our Wiki and fit-iot.com site

Looking at Fitlet3....

The 16GB RAM is seemingly not the issue it was with Fitlet2.

The first memory storage slot is fine, M.2 2280 1TB NVMe is readily available.

But the second slot M.2 SATA is another story. Given 2280 won't fit, I can not find any 1TB drives.
Further Crucial reports they have discontinued all their M.2 SATA drives.

The data sheet talks about the EB-M2SATA adapter, to allow 2.5" drives.
But that requires a "deep bottom" and I can find no description/PN# for same.

Got a Fitlet3 delivered.
But it's not usable for us as is.

The LAN ports use Marvall Alaska 88E1512's per the datasheet.
The FADEC card uses the more common and well supported Intel I210IS.
We found the LAN ports inoperative. Seems there's an FITLET3ERR005: stating it fails on multiple -nix OS's.

Our hardware developer is surprised by the choice of 1512's as they are ?6? years old; he's used them in the past. He's also surprised over the driver fails, and wonders if is really a 88E1512 or a 88E1512P?
