Boot from NVMe?

Has anyone tried to boot from an NVMe SSD in an Airtop with one of those m.2 NVMe to fullsize PCIe adapters? Does it work?

All SATA ports on Airtop are suitable to boot from - M.2, mSATA and SATA slots

Did you eventually try to boot from the NVMe PCIe adapter? Can you share your experience?
