Generally, the right-hand corner of the bottom panel looks like this:


But occasionally, this area includes a battery annunciator. When I hover over the battery, a "Using Battery Power" tag appears. It is as if Linux thinks Airtop is a laptop. A reboot generally clears the battery icon.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, we have experienced this with µSVRs operating under Windows (7 - 10) almost all of the time.

This has made me wonder if it is at all possible to have the advanced power management features of a laptop. I've done some research with Uncle Google about power management at the hardware level, and this has revealed surprisingly little. I appears that there must be some setting in a PCs Power Management Unit that lets the system know that there is a battery that can be managed. Why do the Airtop and µSVR have this (sometimes)? I hope somebody at Compulab can fill us in...

This Linux is a general OS distro.
Airtop and uSVR doesn't have any battery. Just ignore that.

Just remove it. Right click on it and select "Remove Power Applet" or similar.
