New Pro4 Barebones, will not boot.

I recently purchased a fit-PC4 Pro Barebones from Amazon. To round it out I purchase a 1Tb HDD and 8Gb of RAM from NewEgg. Here are those parts:
HDD:

RAM:

The plan is to install KUbuntu onto the box. Installation of the RAM and the HDD were trivial, surprisingly so. After buttoning it up I plugged it in and used the HDMI1 -> DVI converter for video. Using the same DVI cable as my desktop, same USB keyboard and mouse as my desktop, I tried powering it on.
Nothing. No display. The front panel went from a dark amber to flashing an alternate light amber/green.
Checking the FAQ here I saw mention that RAM in one slot might cause the machine to not boot and to try the other. I had installed the RAM on the outer slot but swapped it to the inner just in case. This time I left the HDD unplugged and the bay door open in case I needed to fiddle around with the inside some more.
Nothing. No display. The front panel this time went from a dark amber to a lighter green, no alternating. Plugging in the HDD did not alter this behavior.
Without sound or display I am stumped as to where to go next. Is it an incompatibility with the RAM I purchased? I saw that ECC is not supported and according to all sources I can find the SIMM I've bought does not have ECC. Any further steps I can take?
Also, other things I noted:
My keyboard does not light up when plugged in. The HUB that hosts my mouse does. This is regardless of which USB port I use. Swapping the video from HDMI1 to HDMI2 did not change anything. Both ports show no display. My monitor is 1920x1080 whereas the output of the video is 1920x1200(?). Would this be a factor?
