Sound works in Windows XP

Post by vtailor »

Just for the heck of it, I installed Windows XP3 on my intense pc celeron, and I got analog sound to work with the XP sound driver. Well, there still is some hissing evident on certain streaming flash content, but not to the extent of Windows 7/8. And, other streaming media with sound seem to work adequately. Now, the question is whether the audio_patch.exe program is really what is needed to get the same thing to happen in more recent Windows. Unfortunately, Windows 7/8 has some different audio conventions, and I so far have been unable to get the XP driver to install in 7/8. Gee, I dunno, should I use auxiliary browsers to do the job in XP, or should I go back to Windows 8?

Also, the fit-pc3 Windows 7 azurewave driver installs with no serious problems on Windows XP3. Naturally, I am writing this to you from the intense-pc celeron on XP3.

Again, how about making the effort and getting the audio_patch. exe program to work with the Windows 7/8 sound driver?
