Re: vlc on fit-pc2 odd coloring/flickering

Maybe none image is perfect (twice unlucky ! ) ?

Is "md5sum" the same for each DVD and its respective image ?

It would be better to test a totally different series of DVDs, wouldn't it ?

Re: vlc on fit-pc2 odd coloring/flickering

Okkkkkkk ! You give more infos than I can give myself ! About the DVD menu (and this special "select" cursor ;) ), is it a problem with only one single DVD image or does it happen with all DVD images you've tried ? As an alternative, you may still use the VLC menu rather than the DVD menu (rig...

Re: vlc on fit-pc2 odd coloring/flickering

vaapi isn't already available with the last version of VLC, is it ? Have you been able to compile VLC with vaapi ? I can't see the "select" cursor in the dvd menu. I'm afraid not to undestand. What "select" cursor are you talking about ? (Sorry don't use my fit-pc2 for multimedia purposes :? ). If y...

Re: Freeze on video (with mplayer)

Hi, There's something to tweak in the BIOS to get rid of different freezes (LAN freeze, USB disks freeze, etc. ...). Maybe you could try the same tweak (if not already done) as shown in the following link to get rid of your own freeze on video : http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=605 (...

Re: vlc on fit-pc2 odd coloring/flickering

Hi, I think that mplayer-vaapi is able to handle video streams with hardware acceleration because it's got the "vaapi" stuff. Standard VLC hasn't probably got this stuff. It means that you'll have to wait for a later release of VLC, compile it yourself, or find a vaapi flag to set on somewhere ... M...

Re: LXDE Video

Hello, Video doesn't depend on the window manager. You don't need to use Gnome. However, if you install something that's got a link with Gnome libraries (mplayer-vaapi ?), Ubuntu will tell you that it needs to install some extra Gnome package dependencies too. You'll have more stuffs installed on yo...

Re: receive multicast streams VLC

Hello, You'd rather have a look at the VLC forum : http://forum.videolan.org/ Especially the Linux forum : http://forum.videolan.org/viewforum.php?f=13&sid=35562478ae1064a96c3c762341baed42 (Try to install the last version of VLC anyway, since you'll never have the last release of VLC with Ubuntu). G...

Re: Anybody out there can provide a Ubuntu FitPC2-Image ?

Hi Andre, As said by Denis, try to install Ubuntu as described here : http://fit-pc2.com/wiki/index.php?title=Installing_Ubuntu_9.04 Try to use WLAN without any encryption key or WEP key. If wlan works this way but doesn't work with WPA, it means the problem is out there (modem, router, passphrase, ...

Re: Do I need a Monitor, Keyboard display

With Ubuntu GNU/Linux, you can remote access your fit-pc2 server through SSH (after having installed "openSSH" on your fit-pc2 server). On your client computer, type : ssh -X your_fitpc_ip_address You can also remote access your fit-pc2 server throuh XDMCP (after having activated "remote connection"...

See the " reboot=b " tip given by Kleborp here : http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=301&start=0 1) Open menu.lst : $ sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst Find the ligne " # defoptions=quiet splash " in order to add the smart option (keep the line commented out) : # defoptions=quiet splash re...
